T​he CARES Act created several new, temporary programs to address the economic challenges facing small businesses during the COVID-19 outbreak. These programs include:

  • The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP): a loan from the Small Business Administration (SBA) that helps businesses keep their workforce employed. This program may provide loan forgiveness for businesses who retain their employees.

  • Economic Injury Disaster Loan Emergency Advance (EIDL): This loan advance can provide up to $10,000 of economic relief to businesses that are experiencing temporary difficulties.

  • SBA Express Bridge Loans: This option may enable businesses who currently have a relationship with an SBA Express Lender to access up to $25,000.

  • SBA Debt Relief: The SBA is providing a financial reprieve to small businesses during the pandemic.
